Founded by father and son team DJ and Kevin Lapanne, Griffin Building & Design LLC was born from a shared vision: to create a construction company that truly puts the client first — not as a slogan, but as a guiding principle.
DJ’s journey in construction began in the early 2000s, when he launched his own flooring company that quickly evolved into a full-service commercial and residential Class A contracting firm. For more than a decade, he and his wife, Jessica Lapanne, led projects from concept through completion, blending design expertise with hands-on craftsmanship and precision.
Kevin brings a wealth of large-scale commercial experience to the partnership. Over his distinguished career, he’s overseen some of the region’s most recognized projects — including Camden Yards, M&T Bank Stadium, multiple Johns Hopkins Hospital facilities, several university campuses, and numerous multi-story developments. Beyond commercial work, Kevin’s deep understanding of residential construction adds a critical layer of insight to the Griffin approach.
Together, DJ and Kevin represent two generations of expertise — combining modern design sensibility with time-tested construction excellence. Their philosophy is simple yet powerful: construction doesn’t have to be complicated — it just needs a proven process.
